BIRDWATCHING, WATERFALL ROUTE HIKE IN THE CLOUD FOREST – “CHOCO ANDINO”

Departure from the hotel at 8 am heading to the Northwest of Pichincha, a place with the greatest biodiversity of flora, fauna, birds, rivers, waterfalls, landscapes in the “Choco Andino”.

After an hour and a half, we will pass through the town of Nanegalito where you can observe and taste local food such as: Coffee, Empanadas, Bolones, Fritada, Chicken Soup, Palm Heart (Palmito) Ceviche, etc.

Then we went to observe hummingbirds, tanagers, and toucans in “San Tadeo” or “Alambi”.

In this place we can give the different species of hummingbirds to drink sugar water from our hand.

After this activity we go to the “Golden Paradise” farm.

In this place we will take a walk to the 7 waterfalls**, being able to go into each one and feel the energy provided by its refreshing water.

** IMPORTANT NOTE: In Winter Season we are able to see up to 7 waterfalls, in Summer we might see around 4 or 5 waterfalls.

The first “Reina” (Queen) Waterfall, a 30-minute round trip walk, easy level.

The second waterfall “Escondida” (Hidden), 1 hour round trip medium level.

Then we will continue by car to the camping area where we will cross a wooden suspension bridge to enter the primary forest and do the “Tobogán” (Slide) waterfall circuit in the Pachijal River.

After that, we will advance to the “Manto de la Novia” (Bride’s Veil) and “Titania” waterfalls in a route of approximately one and a half hours with a medium level of difficulty.

After this tour we will go by car to take a refreshing swim in the crystalline waters and natural pools of the “Pachijal” River.

After having enjoyed the nature and charm of this place, we will return to the main road to have lunch at a local restaurant and then return to the hotel.

DURATION: Approximately 9 hours.

INCLUDES: Transportation, guide, water.

NOT INCLUDED: tickets to bird reserve $5 p/p, entrance to 7 waterfalls $5 p/p.
